Mr & Mrs Wetton

It’s been a little while since I’ve shot a wedding on my own, and I was brimming with nervous excitement for the wedding of Lee and Sophere, having not met the couple previously and being unfamiliar with both ceremony and reception locations. The Geat Barr Hall Hotel was the grand setting for my meeting with beautiful bride Sophere and I think we helped put each other at ease as she echoed my emotions.

Daughter Olivia was super sweet and so well behaved as bridesmaids Kayla and Tanya got everyone ready in the Devreux suite. Conveniently they had the biggest luxury bathroom in the world on hand, perfect for putting on a wedding dress and flowing veil. Once the girls were fully gorgeous it was off to Coleshill Church in the Bentley to meet the patiently waiting Lee. The congregation sang as the vicar, Nick, played his guitar for the hymn. Sophere gave way to tears as she gave her vows, and as they kissed and hugged as man and wife their little family became one.

The heavens opened as soon as everyone had made it into the cars to travel back to the hotel, but thankfully by the time we arrived the sun was shining again. We took the formal photos in front of the hotel, everyone doing a good job with the phenomenal amount of family on Lee’s side! I managed to sneak the couple away for a few shots within the grounds, and one final group shot as I dangled out of a window (there’s some interesting things to see on the ‘kiss the person you came with’ photo!).

Children were a huge focus of the day, with the bride and groom’s own two and four year old being entertained amongst the throng of other young guests. The bouncy castle made everyone happy, and the joy continued to rise as out came glitter tattoos, face painting, balloon modelling and ice-creams. Plenty of big kids got their ice-creams too, and Peppa Pig even put in an appearance.

Guests enjoyed themselves in the manicured gardens, the children running through the maze in the evening sun, before the speeches again brought tears to the bride. With the arrival of the DJ also came the first dance, followed by a dance for Sophere and her father. Lee invited his mom to join him on the dance floor too, a sequence of touching and tender moments.

Now everyone (including me!) could relax, and as the beat dropped, the bride hit the dance floor and the party really started. The girls showed everyone how it was done and kept the dance floor filled into the night.

This was a fun, happy and beautiful day. Huge thanks to the new Mr and Mrs Wetton for being a great couple, and wishing you a very wonderful future together!
