Mr & Mrs Westwick

A weekend sandwiched between Halloween and Bonfire night is one certain to get you in the party mood, and that is exactly what Laura and Ian wanted from their wedding day. This couple were not out for the ‘big white wedding’, rather to simply commit their love and have a damn good time celebrating it with their loved ones. And, happily, that is just what they did.

Groom Ian looked awesome in his Dr Martens, waistcoat and top hat, while bride Laura, holding a beautiful bold button bouquet, stunned in a vibrant purple dress with super cool glittery shoes that would make even Dorothy jealous. Both bride and groom dyed their hair to tie in with their outfits, and together they looked fantastic.

Laura walked down the aisle, escorted by her son and daughter, to a teary Ian awaiting her. It was a beautiful ceremony, full of character and personality, and brimming with giddiness, joy and love. Youngest son and daughter gave a surprise reading during the ceremony which brought on more tears. Once they were officially husband and wife, they walked out together to Apeman by The Kinks. The music throughout the day had been meticulously curated by Ian, and this was a truly wonderful choice from the pair.

This couple made a real break from the norm; they had no bridesmaids, no wedding cake, no formal wedding breakfast and no speeches. They did the things they wanted their way, ensuring their guests had a great time. So while the guests were enjoying canapés, I went with the happy couple, their kids and closest friends for some fun in the buzzing Drayton Manor Park on it’s craziest weekend of the year. Ian and Laura had great fun playing on the carousel, making friends and dancing with the Park staff dressed as Queens Guards, and even (randomly) hijacking Del Boy’s Reliant Robin! The park was electric and this couple had an absolute blast getting in on all the action at the theme park.

Mr and Mrs Westwick really had brought the party with everything from crispy crème donuts to the outstanding fireworks and a world of rock and roll in between. They didn’t do what was ‘expected’, they did what they wanted, and it was truly beautiful. A thoroughly fun filled day, a relaxed and loved up couple, and good times for all. Congratulations Mr and Mrs Westwick, we hope the party keeps going for a long time to come.
