An hour in the life….

I teased a few weeks back about a new type of photoshoot I wanted to start doing, the idea is photographing families in the same relaxed style I use at weddings. The sessions will be in your favourite park, woodland, your home or whatever place makes you the happiest. We will spend up to an hour photographing you doing what you do best, being a family. I will capture all the fun, smiles, laughter and tears (we all have one of them days sometimes right!) there will be minimal posing and it is just documenting you and your family as naturally as possible.

This type of shoot is perfect for those that aren’t so fond of having their photograph taken and for families with children. Letting children play and enjoy is a much more interactive way to photograph them and it ensures the photographs are filled with personality that captures that moment. I feel this is especially poignant with everything that is going on the world. The best bit is these can be done with social distancing in mind, keeping everyone as safe as possible.

This weekend just gone I was finally able to take my cameras out and photograph some real humans (all socially distanced of course!) and photograph my first hour in the life session.

It took place at the beautiful Dosthill park and nature reserve. The reserve is full of wildflower meadows, ladybirds, little frogs, butterflies, bees and damselflies so it is just perfect for this kind of photography. I love where i am based in Tamworth as there are so many beautiful areas for photography and lots of them lend themselves to this kind of shoot.

There is a sample gallery below of some of my favourites from the 1-hour session, a nice mix of natural and relaxed photographs with a couple of laidback posed photos which are to be printed and mounted in their home.
